The first time I was asked to host an event was in 2011. I was handed the reins of a leadership role for the weekly improvisation live show Friday Night Live at Buffalo State College. I was a player in the show but I felt like I had a finger on the pulse of the audience so I wanted to guide it along as it's host as well as a participant (see the 'Theater' page under 'Stage Work.')
My aspirations were always to be a performer but the responsibility of controlling the flow of an event as a host, personality, master of ceremonies or whatever you want to call it revealed a side of myself as a performer I have embraced. I feel calm, cool and comfy as a host whether it be in a studio in front of a camera or in a venue full of people. My background in improvisation armed me with whatever I need to meet any scenario, take control of it and move it where it needs to go.

The School of Divinity teaches the lectures and writings of Omraam Mikahael Aivanhov. I was charged with conveying those lessons to a fresh audience. I loved being handed a script and discovering the truth in it so that I every word I speak is authentic and flows without hesitation.

The assignment seemed simple enough. Smell theses fragrances and tell the camera what you think. Sounds simple but sometimes your olfactory system takes its time to process how a scent makes you feel. These review took a lot of homework but taking my work home with me helped lead to ideas of my own to inspire video ideas and some more natural spontaneity that helped eliminate the on the on camera processing.

There was a script for this project but there was also a need for improvisation. I wasn't told that before I arrived but I am always ready for it.
TCM Guest Host Contest- Cool Hand Luke
There was a contest to become a guest Turner Classic Movie host back in 2013. I was such big fan of TCM and discovered a lot of my favorite classics through the channel so I leaped at the opportunity to enter this contest with a sample introduction to my all time favorite movie: Cool Hand Luke (1967.) I came very close and was featured on the website as one of their final contestants but it was not meant to be.
Pretty Much It: Classic Reviews
I love the movies. That is how I got into the arts in the first place. I was very young when I filmed these and maybe a little novice but I think my passion really pours out of my reviews and analysis of these classic movie reviews.
